July
July has been a good month. A long weekend followed by 2 weeks of holidaze have been great...only to be followed by another long weekend after my first week back at work. We started the month of with our first camping trip at Kokanee Creek campground. It was the Canada day long weekend and we just squeezed in to the overflow camping which was pretty good except they did not have a fire pit for us. We had tons of room and Daisy was able to run around without getting caught up on anything with her long lead.

Chloe And Dad

Mmmmm...smores!

Afternoon nap in the hammock

Mosquito bites - Chloe got lots of them that weekend.

Mornings were a little chilly.
Then my holidaze started. We decided to take our time getting to the coast and did it in 2 days. We left Nelson at 10:30am and stopped in Grand Forks to let Chloe play in the playground there and for us to stretch our legs. We then stopped at Rattlesnake Canyon in Osoyoos. Chloe went on the bumber boats and also sat with me in the double go-cart race car. This was followed up by a nice cool ice cream. It was hot. I am sure it was pushing the 40 celcius mark in the desert. We then made our way to Hope and we were going to stop there to camp but Chloe was sleeping so we decided to keep going to Chiliwack....BAD MOVE! All the campgrounds were full and hotels were a little too expensive for this trip and everything was full from Chiliwack to Mission. Luckily my uncle Dave was receptive to us showing up in Vancouver at 11:30pm. What a day it was. Thanks goodness for portable DVD players and Diego.

Cactus riding

Formula 1 drivers

Getting ready to race

Karen showed Chloe every flavour at the counter

She made a decision
The next day we caught the ferry to Nanaimo and made our way to Tofino. Karen had never been to Tofino. Go figure...she's from the island and never went. I lived there for less than a year and made it out to Tofino 2 times. Chloe loved the beaches and the starfish and crabs. It was quite fascinating for her.

1st day in Tofino

Collecting shells

Rainforest bath time

Morning walk on the beach

Look what i found!! STARFISH!!

No...it's not alive...that didn't stop her

Eager toddler

Chloe walked the whole 1.2 km's

Here's proof

Yet another dead crab

Shell hunter loot

Follow the leader

Mom and Chloe

Plumber's butt

Sitting in her tree nook
After Tofino we hit Coombs to stop at the Goats on The Roof and then Nanaimo again to visit Karen's grandfather and then made our way to Mill Bay to hang with Karen's parents for a few days. During that time we made it to Victoria so Chloe could visit the petting zoo and play in the park. It was cute to watch her with Brian the Goat.

Has a thing for goats now

Bubblegum ice cream...now her favorite

Great grandpa and Chloe

Bunnies

Brian the goat

Like i said...she has a soft spot for goats...especially Brian

I think she is going to be a rock climber

Or bungy jumper?

Can you see the little crab?

Progressing as a climber

Watching the baseball game in Mill Bay

Just a cute pic.

Good morning daddy

Rawk and roll
The trip finished with a visit to Playland at the PNE in Vancouver and one more camping day in Hope with a killer breakfast at Rolly's pancake house the next day. The service rocked and the meals were HUGE. I will be going back again. Time of day does not matter since they serve breakfast all day:-)

We finished my holidaze off with some time at home just relaxing. It was a great month of time off with Chloe and the family. We also went for a paddle in the canoe with Chloe yesterday. She was amazing. It was pretty windy out for the first half hour and then she hung in there for the last hour.

Tomorrow, it's back to reality (work).
Next time you see Chloe, ask her about the starfish...that will set her off.
